☙ A field guide to the AU.
-Slenderman was a corrupted spirit of suburbia, much like a forest spirit, but a guiding force that takes precedence over cities and suburbs. His uncorrupted form, used to travel mostly undistinguished amongst humanity, was changed.
-In corruption, the creature was vengeful, vicious, and stalked many others out of its own territory. It became a roamer, and as a result, the city it hailed from sunk into disrepair and its citizens into depression.
-Corruption, how? Well, great blood was spilled on the land in the form of a serial killer's rampage. The blood and fear corrupted the soul of the land itself.
