Story Guide

When the world was young, man and nature operated in harmony, neither dominating the other. This was destined to change. Eventually the machines of man began to claim the land as their own. Some of the guardians of the land grew ambivalent towards humanity, others were blinded with rage and insanity. Wounded by mankind's influence, a once proud race disintegrated over time into wild animals and vicious creatures bent on destruction. At one time the beings were beautiful, shifting into the forms of animals to blend into the environment. They changed the seasons and worked together with man to show them the virtues of plants and animals.

Now, with the rise of suburbia, many of them no longer take the form of animals. The sickness of injured nature corrupts their bodies and turns them to insanity. The color is drained from their features. Great black and white beasts prowl the night, especially seeing out the young to prevent another generation of humans from spreading sickness and blight. Some of them take a sadistic glee in manipulating the mind, as genius loci are capable of near god-like powers in their own domain.  Some of these domains may encompass entire continents. Vengeance truly is the name of the game and now, humanity is the enemy.


But there is hope.
